Did you know what movie comes out today? No? I guess you don't hang out with 10-year-old girls all day long. Today Justin Bieber's movie "Never Say Never" comes out. Most of my girls are obsessed. He's a big hit with the tween scene.
I am an evil. Completely evil. Just in case you aren't familier with the Bieb, he is famous for his beautiful hair. My girls love him, my boys make fun of him. It's a constant topic of discussion in my classroom. At school today I happened upon a picture of Justin Bieber from being on the late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel last night. So I have a great idea... I tell my kids in a very sad, serious tone there is something I need to show them and it's very serious. That yes, it might make them cry. I turn the promethean board on, (big smart board, computer screen in front of my room) and they count down till they can see the very serious picture I have for them.
And then..... this is what I showed them.
They LOST IT! Well at least the girls did. One girl in particular, her jaw dropped. She just stared. I totally wish I had been video-taping them when I showed them. It was hysterical. Honestly, I think there seriously almost was tears. The boys lost it, they are always making fun of how girly he looks before, so now they loved it. I did eventually tell them it was a bald wig. But man...I don't think I can ever forget the terrified screams...
